A live edge oak shelf that retains the natural, uncut edge of the timber on one or both sides. No two waney edge boards are the same — the organic edge profile reflects the original shape of the tree, with natural variation in form and grain.
Every board is machined from a single, unjointed piece of solid oak — no finger joints, no glue lines. For boards over 25mm thick, we can supply single-piece widths up to 480mm, a standard very few suppliers can match. Thinner boards of 25mm and under are supplied as a single piece up to 300mm wide; beyond this width they are precision edge-jointed in our workshop for increased stability.
Waney edge shelving suits both rustic and contemporary interiors, particularly where a natural, characterful finish is desired. The width dimension is the minimum finished width — the waney edge will add natural variation beyond this. Supplied with or without an oil finish applied in our workshop. Floating brackets are available for shelves up to 200mm deep — the recommended number is calculated automatically based on your shelf length.
Maximum dimensions: 480mm wide, 2,400mm long, 55mm thick.
Want the raw material before machining? Our kiln dried oak timber range offers the same quality European and American white oak in sawn boards â ideal if you want to cut and finish yourself.
